Yup, this kind of gets to the heart of the problem with rape jokes. Most of the reason comedians get a laughter reaction is from the shock value, and even that is fading.
It is possible to make anything funny, but it takes the right wit and the right context. Most of these comedians don’t have either.
Also, I think this Kamau Bell that I’ve never heard of before is smart and I like him.

Really, the most important take-away from this article is that the French now have a term for making out, which is “galocher,” which to me sounds like “galoshes,” which seems appropriate.

I got this at Books for America in Dupont. It is thoroughly unappealing as a topic, but something I should probably learn. I didn’t want to leave the store with just that, though, so I also got Wolf Hall and a tiny paperback collection of Sappho poems.
